about
Communist Consumption marks the 3rd release by Myths of a Thistle.
After the lovingly gooey tunes Baby I Was Born To Love You and Shine On, this one is a restless incarnation of wild promises, desire, failure, drifting and a fading mind. You could call it a contra-part. You could also call it the search for a soul. Not necessarily the narrators soul, just any.
The story is settled in a Panamanian world but it might be in Puerto Rico as well. The sun is sinking in Algiers when someone enters the room. A piano jingles in the back, Ne Me Quitte Pas. The crowd notices the bloodstains on his face, clothes wet from falling off the railing, eyes fragmented.
"Beer".
It arrives. He sits down, takes out his phone, starts an Insta Story and begins to tell..
lyrics
The dead eyes, the red teeth, the blood-shot, the sea breeze, the light
the car crash, the fickle, the morning, the trickle, the bribe
the hard luck, the sailor, the sweet love, the railroad, the cries
I see them in your eyes
Communist consumption and the seize of the light
naked women dancing ‘round the fi re in the night
the boredom is magic the sorrow divine
the moon is a token and hell is align
we ride on the coastline, but we couldn‘t care
that the sunlight is defunct, but the moon is a-flare
the moon is a-fl are, the moon is a-fl are, the moon is a-fl are, the moo-oo-oon
The blue shoes, the ocean, the knee-deep devotion, surprise
the sunlight, the sunray, the ballroom, the ballet, the wife
I see them in your eyes
Communist consumption and the seize of the light
naked women dancing ‘round the fire in the night
the boredom is magic, the sorrow divine
the moon is a token and hell is align
we ride on the coastline, but we couldn’t care
that the sunlight is defunct, but the moon is a-fl are
the moon is a-fl are, the moon is a-fl are, the moon is a-fl are, the moo-oo-oon
The moon (yeah), the moon (yeah), the moon (yeah), the moo-oo-oon
the moon (yeah), the moon
Communist consumption and the seize of the light
naked women dancing ‘round the fire in the night
the boredom is magic, the sorrow divine
the moon is a token and hell is align
we ride on the coastline, but we couldn’t care
that the sunlight is defunct, but the moon is a-flare
the moon is a-fl are, the moon is a-fl are, the moon is a-fl are, the moo-oo-oon
